Participation
Young people have formed a group called Brighter Futures which meets regularly to do fun activities and to plan how they can improve the services they use.

The Brighter Futures group is for young people aged 3-25, organized by The Children’s Rights Team at Suffolk County Council. It runs activities and social events for young people in care and care leavers.
It’s all about getting together, making new friends and enjoying activities and challenges! Over 200 children and young people already take part in our group, and we’ve done lots of different activities: go-karting, chill-out evenings, pool, ice skating, karaoke nights and trips to Pleasurewood Hills, as well as music, art and drama workshops. We’re always looking for more ideas about what to do next!
Brighter Futures can also give you a chance to talk about issues that YOU think are important in your life. If you want to, you can get involved in helping to get young people’s voices heard, and promoting change within Suffolk’s Social Care Services. This could involve:
