The Buzz:
This was one of those rare films, in which its trailer had me open mouthed all the way through it. Seriously!
It is 2 years after Decepticon (big robot with the pointy teeth – make a note, it’s very easy to get confused by which robot is which!), tried to get his hands on the Cube. It was supposed to be completely destroyed, but while getting ready to leave home in the present day, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) finds a fragment of it on his clothes! Panic all round!
Enter “Big Boy” Optimus Prime (the red and blue one!) again, with his new gang of Autobots. They have joined together with the humans to fight against the other bad guys those last 2 years, and now it seems that Decepticon is making a come-back…
Michael Bay is at his best in this film, the SGI is so awesome and drool-worthy you have to remind yourself that it isn’t real. Bumblebee, Sam’s Autobot car (and a gorgeous car at that!) is adorable at the start. He cries tears of oil because Sam has to leave for college, as well as talking through the radio – listen out for Forrest Gump’s voice!
However, the plot sags a bit in the middle and as I said, occasionally, you do get rather confused by who are the baddies, and who are the goodies. Also, there are a few parts in the film that may make you question the certificate, despite them being very funny!
It ends with Linkin Park’s amazing song, “New Divide”, which just added to the coolness of this movie. AND there was a bit of a cliff-hanger!
