Up! by Rebecca Jackaman

  • Certificate: U
  • Directors: Pete Docter and Bob Peterson
  • Released: 9th October 2009

The Cast:

  • Edward Asner – Carl Fredricksen
  • Christopher Plummer – Charles Muntz
  • Russell – Jordon Nagai
  • Dug – Bob Peterson

The Buzz:

78 year old widower, Carl Fredrickson is bored with his life, especially now he must move to an old people’s home – he’s having none of it.

So like any normal person, he attaches thousands of balloons to his house, heading for South America, just as he and his late wife, Ellie had planned but had never been able to.

Along with cute camper stowaway Russell (Jordon Nagai), they embark on their voyage and come across things they certainly weren’t expecting…

I love how bright and colourful everything is in this film, even in the dark bits, and there are times you have to take off those oh-so expensive 3D glasses, just to check if the scenery is good – it’s that awesome.

Dug, a talking dog is adorable, a huge lumpy Labrador with a giant nose; in fact ALL the dogs are hilarious…when they think they see a squirrel.

The Rating:

I give this film ... SQUIRREL! ... 4 STARS
