The Buzz:
From the man who brought you Pretty Woman, comes Valentine’s Day - a film that could put 'Love Actually' to shame with the amount of well-known actors and actresses that are crammed into this fluffy little tale.
It’s Valentine’s Day, naturally, and a series of people and their ordinary lives are entwined together on this special day. There’s the hopeless romantic florist, Reed (Ashton Kutcher) who finally gets round to proposing to his girlfriend Morley (Jessica Alba), but everyone seems a bit too surprised when she says yes. Then there’s Grace (Emma Roberts), who is planning on getting really physical with her boyfriend – with disastrous consequences – and Dr. Harrison Copeland (Patrick Dempsey) is juggling his wife and kind teacher, Julia Hazeltine all at once! Phew!
I really enjoyed how everyone is connected somehow in this film, but this is also its downfall. It’s very similar to Love Actually, despite it being based on a different day and with American actors. But still, I left the cinema with a cosy warm sensation in my heart and a huge smile on my face, so I’m not complaining. However, I think this is much too girly film for men, so guys, you might want to give this one a miss!
The Rating:
I give this film 4 STARS
