
The school careers/Connexions library is one of the best places to find out more about career ideas.
You will find magazines, leaflets and books about hundreds of different jobs and careers.
As well as information about the type of qualifications you will need, what skills you will develop and what is actually like to do that particular job.
There’s also lots of information about the different types of training that is available, or staying on in education and going to sixth form or college.
Look out for the following sources of help:
Kudos / CID / Careerscape
These computer programmes will ask you lots of questions about yourself and what you like to study. They will then help you match your likes and interests to different careers, and explain about the qualifications that it would be useful to have.
Occupations
This comes as a big book, folder or a computer programme. It contains information about hundreds of jobs and what sort of training, skills and qualifications you will need.
Which Way Now?
Which Way Now? is a national publication for Year 9 students which takes you through questions and quizzes, to help you decide what options to take.
