'Experience Uni' opportunity: 15th & 16th August
Would you like to have the opportunity to experience university and university life through various workshops and social activities? A very similar programme was held last year, which proved very successful and gained a lot of positive feedback from the students who attended!
University of Suffolk, UEA and City College Norwich, are jointly running an ‘Experience Uni’ residential for looked after children and recent care leavers aged 14-18. This is a two-day residential which will run from Tuesday 15th to Wednesday 16th August and is fully paid for, including transport to and from the UEA and CCN campuses in Norwich where it will be held.
Students can spend a day exploring UEA and a night in student accommodation, followed by a second day visiting City College Norwich. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and find out about Higher Education options in your area. All transport, accommodation and food is free.
The first two Experience Uni events were held in April and August 2016, and 100% of attendees said that they would recommend the events to a friend.
"I never expected this trip to be so fun. I think the future starts at uni... Thank you for the amazing experience! I would love to come again!" (Year 10 attendee, April 2016)
You can apply and find more information about the event in the attached document and on the UEA website: https://www.uea.ac.uk/study/info-for/young-people/looked-after-children
