Volunteers Week

Posted by Maddie on 26 May 2017

There are loads of ways you can get involved and you are not only giving something back to the community and helping people, you might be starting your new career or gaining insight ans skills for your own personal development.

Volunteers' Week is a chance to be part of the UK's biggest celebration of volunteering which recognises the contribution of 23 million people who volunteer in their communities across the UK.

 Volunteering

All week we are going to be posting some of the exciting and varied opportunities available on the Volunteer Suffolk website so watch this space! #VolunteerSuffolk
For starters why not check out the V-Event website for information on sport and event voluntary opportunities in Suffolk which is open to people of all ages, backgrounds and experience.

National Citizen Service

A good way to get into volunteering is by taking part in the National Citizen Service. This is an activity for young people (15-17 years olds) from all different backgrounds to come together to gain new experiences, to have the chance to take on new challenges, develop new skills and meet new people in the experience of a lifetime. The skills and experiences gained are recognised positively by UCAS and employers. There are three phases - go on an adventure and have fun, discover something new and finally take part in social action. Read more detailed information on the NCS website.

NCS jump

Inspire Suffolk deliver the National Citizen Service throughout Suffolk and have 2 programmes this summer! Starting on 10th July and another on 17th July. All the information you need is on the Inspire Suffolk website
