Your Life

Refugees, Asylum Seekers & Migrant Workers

As a young person your rights and entitlements will depend on whether you have entered the country with your family or unaccompanied.

The National Asylum Support Service (NASS) automatically supports families with children/young people under the age of 18. However if you are an 'unaccompanied child' (meaning under 18 years of age), then you come under the responsibility of Suffolk County Council Refugee Social Care Team.

Refugee Council One Stop Service

The Refugee Council One Stop Service exists to help asylum seekers in Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Cambridge, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire.

They offer a range of services to newly arrived asylum seekers and those who need advice about NASS, asylum applications and decisions. They also inform asylum seekers and refugees of their rights and entitlements.
