YPSH is a Suffolk based organisation that works with young people on sexual health issues. The YPSH website
has loads of really useful information relating to Sexually Transmitted Infections.
Treat it as soon as possible
Most infections are easily sorted as long as they’re treated as soon as possible. If you're really worried it's best to seek advice at your nearest clinic or go and see a doctor. It doesn't have to be your own doctor and whoever you see should have a confidentiality policy.
Use a condom
Remember the best way to avoid an infection during sex is to use a condom.
There are many different contraceptive methods available, different methods suit different people. A couple of the more common methods are shown below but there are many more. A contraceptive is something that can stop an unplanned pregnancy and in the case of condoms can also prevent you from catching Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). Contraception is free through the NHS!
Unprotected sex
If you have had unprotected sex, you may want to think about emergency contraception to stop you getting pregnant. However, don't delay, you need to act within 3 days (72 hours) of having unprotected sex for this to work.
