We spoke to 7 local young people in Year 10 who had to go through their options last year. See how they chose their options, how they're finding their subjects, and their hopes for the future!
Hobbies or career ideas: I would like a career in the army.
How did you feel when you had to make your option choices? A bit nervous because I wasn’t sure if I would get the options I wanted.
Who helped you with your decisions? I went through my options with my mum to see what would help me get a better job.
Hobbies or career ideas: Shopping, spending time with mates. I would like to be a police officer or help children with disabilities.

What words of advice can you offer? Pick something that you are not going to get bored of.

Who helped you with your decisions? I have a sister who helped me and her friends, so I found out what each course was like.
What words of advice can you offer? Don’t panic and choose the subjects you enjoy most.

What words of advice can you offer? Don’t get too stressed and always ask for help.

What words of advice can you offer? Look and research what you want to do when you are older and choose accordingly.
