Building your skills - developing your knowledge

Wherever you learn, study or train, there are so many different issues to consider, options to research and decisions to make. If you want information or advice about what it means to continue in learning until the age of 18 - this is a great place to start.

Taking a course or training opportunity can boost you into the world of work!

Helping you achieve more
Suffolk County Council wants young people to have the best chance of achieving a happy and successful life during and after they leave school. The plan is called Raising The Bar - read more about it on the County Council website.

Apprenticeships and Traineeships - Embark on work and training. Visit

Princes Trust

The Prince's Trust offers a range of short courses and support to get young people where they would like to be. You can find out more on the Prince's Trust website.

TEAM Programme - This is a valuable opportunity to be part of something special. Team is a 12 week personal development programme, which includes four days at a residential activity centre; working on and developing projects within the local community; a two week individual work placement; and supporting other people within different parts of the community.

It is an employability programme with the aim to develop interview skills, job applications, CV writing and to help young people gain a better understanding as to what their next steps might be, whether this is in employment, education, apprenticeships or volunteering.

There is also the chance to develop lasting friendships with fellow Team participants and experience a real sense of combined achievement and support during the final week presentation.

View the course outline to find out what you will be doing over the 12 weeks. Watch a video about the TEAM programme. Visit the TEAM page on the Inspire Suffolk website for more information.

To sign up for the TEAM programme please email: nextsteps@inspiresuffolk.org.uk

If you have completed the Team programme and you are looking to take the next step. Take a look at Step Up
